About the NCIC
Italian-Canadians*
The National Congress of Italian-Canadians (NCIC) is the national voice of a vibrant and enduring community, rooted in generations of resilience, pride, and cultural richness. Bringing together districts and associations from across the country, the NCIC plays a unifying role supporting local initiatives, strengthening connections, and preserving the identity that defines Italian-Canadians from coast to coast.
For over five decades, the NCIC has been a pillar of the Italian-Canadian community, championing our heritage while looking toward the future. Through initiatives such as ItalCanHeritage.ca, it continues to embrace new ways of connecting communities, promoting cultural life, and ensuring that the traditions, values, and contributions of Italian-Canadians remain visible, celebrated, and passed on to future generations.
* As of the 2021 census, 1,546,390 Canadian residents stated they had Italian ancestry, comprising 4.3 percent of Canada’s population.
